Aston Martin’s Q division has created a limited-edition V12 Vantage S to commemorate the UK’s Supermarine Spitfire’s first flight 80 years ago. Aston Martin will build eight Spitfire 80 V12 Vantages.
The exterior color is Duxford Green, Duxford being the base were the first Spitfire squadron was stationed. There is a yellow pinstripe along the vehicle. So, this is just some fancy paint then? No, you would be quite wrong.
Several parts, such as the tailpipe finishers, were hand-built by Duxford’s Aircraft Restoration Company. Inside, there are embroidered logos on the headrests with the Royal Air Force’s roundel on the dash.
Price for the Spitfire 80 starts at $240,2010. A percentage of that will go to the REF Benevolent Fund. All eight owners will receive their vehicles at the IWM Duxford where they will also get a flight in a Spitfire. The event is scheduled for October 18.[Image Credit: Top Gear]
