The new Toyota Supra coming in 2017 has been a hot topic in recent months, and there’s plenty of good reasons why. Next year will mark the return of one of the most famous sports car names to come from Japan.

But what is it going to look like? We’ve still got months to wait before we get our first official look from Toyota, but there has been plenty of speculation on this matter.

As you can see just above, we’ve already come up with our own design for what we think it will look like, but there’s plenty of other interpretations that have appeared across the web.

Some of the other concepts fans have posted show there’s interesting variety of opinions. Some, for instance, think the new Supra will look a lot like Toyota’s GT86 sports car. Others think it’ll be similar to the FT-1 concept shown a couple of years ago while others think it will look differently to anything else Toyota have recently done.

Here’s a look at a few of the most interesting renders which have been shared online and show a particular vision of the new upcoming Supra.

This Supra concept above is similar to some others shared online in having styling that’s delightfully reminiscent of previous Toyota sports cars.

Details like the shape of the headlights, the large, mouth-shaped grille and fixed rear wing bring back memories of the previous Supra, as well as the Toyota Celica coupe. However, judging by spy photos which have been shared online, it appears the new Supra won’t have a distinct rear wing like its predecessor.

This render of a new Supra concept is one of the few that gives the sports car a more muscular and wider appearance.

Such a design would certainly give the Toyota a lot of road presence, and its aggressive detailing would stand out next to the majority of performance-focused coupes in today’s market which seem a lot slimmer in comparison.

This concept render, which handily includes shots of both the front and rear of the car, is one of the most interesting examples online that appears to take a lot of inspiration from Toyota’s FT-1 concept.

But some of the modifications, including those to the headlights, grille, and exhausts, help to make this concept more reminiscent of classic Supras than the original FT-1.

This is one of the more conservative designs we’ve seen among all the Toyota Supra concepts shared online recently, but it’s also probably one of the closest to how the real thing will look.

Its overall shape is very similar to the test mule version captured in various spy shots, and some of the detailing reminds us a lot of the GT86. Details like the sizable air vents are still somewhat reminiscent of the previous Supra, though, and we’d love it if the final car had wheels as bold-looking as those shown in this render.
