Here’s the 525-HP Miata You’ve Always Wanted
If you’re a hardcore Mazda Miata fan, then you’ve likely heard of Flyin’ Miata—a company known for its V-8 roadsters. But the tuner company is more than just a skunkworks. Flyin’ Miata offers minor parts to a turn-key V-8 Miata—and everything in between.
The latest V-8 Flyin’ Miata takes the current ND generation and packs a General Motors LS3 under the hood. The engine has been tuned to produce 525 horsepower—all to those skinny rear tires. Power is pumped through a Tremec T56 transmission. The V-8 MX-5 gets a new suspension, brakes, roll cage and exhaust system.
Even with a V-8 under the hood, the Flyin’ Miata still weights a very respectable 2,592 pounds. It also carries a 53:47 front-to-rear weight distribution.
If you are looking to have Flyin’ Miata tune your ND, expect to pay the cost of the Miata plus about $50,000. The car and its kits will be available soon.
